The cluster will be a great show with plenty of fun and excitement for everyone. Along with the shows here are just some of the things we have planned:

  • On Thursday through Sunday Toby & Jim Mazrolle of Hilton, VA will be providing FREE introduction to agility clinics along with an introduction for you and your dog to the agility course. This is a great opportunity for a person interested in finding out what all is involved in the agility competitive arena.

  • On Saturday Devereaux whippets will be doing “Lure Coursing Demo’s and Clinics”, These also are free to the public with a “free fun run” followed by practice runs open to all breeds at a minimal charge.

  • On Wednesday evening Purina will be providing “Deli Sandwiches” to the exhibitors as they set up for the show and get settled in. This starts at 5:00 and goes until the food runs out.

  • Each and every day of the circuit we will be having fun with our “New” “Chuck-A-Duck” event. Players can purchase a duck at $5.00 each and right before ‘Best in Show” each day you get to chuck your duck at the target in the center of the ring. Closest to the center gets 50% of the pot with the balance going to benefit “Take the Lead”.

  • Also on each day of the cluster we will be having random “Arm Band” drawings for $25.00 gas cards. There will be a minimum of 4 drawings at random times throughout the day.

  • On Friday morning Linda Pitts is heading up a “BAKE-A-WISH” Bake sale. There will be plenty of baked goods for sale with all proceeds going to the “Make-A-Wish” foundation.

  • During the group judging on Friday there will be an “Ice Cream Social” with a sundae bar set up. All proceeds from this event will go to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research Fund.

  • On Saturday evening we will be hosting a new and exciting event that fits in with the fall season. Linda Pitts is Chairing our “Country Fair” extravaganza at the Jacobs building. This event’s proceeds will be going to the Children’s Hospital of East TN and the AKC Humane fund. It will be an evening to remember. The fun starts at 6:00PM with games and food service opening at 6:30PM followed by a drawing for prizes at around 9:30PM. I know you are wondering “What’s at the country fair?”  Well it is jammed pack with plenty of Food, Numerous Games of Chance, and A DJ playing Music for all ages, Great Prizes and tons of fun for everyone young and old.

  • Your $50.00 ticket gets you “All You Can Eat” fair food: our menu has Fresh dipped corn dogs, chili cheese foot longs, Italian Sausage with grilled onions and sweet peppers, Chicken on a stick, steak on a stick, Nachos & Cheese, Hot Roasted Corn on the Cobb, Fresh Hot Funnel Cakes, Deep fried candy bars, Cotton Candy, Popcorn, Sodas, Bottled water, Lemonade, & Iced tea. You will also receive 5 tickets for “Games of Chance”; those planned include a Dunk Tank (Which yours truly will take a turn sitting in), The High Striker, Duck Pond, Quarterback Toss, Color Wheel, and the All Star Mini Basketball competition.  There will also be additional game tickets available for purchase. You will also receive tickets for the prize drawing and additional drawing tickets may be purchased or won at the games of chance. We also will have a “Cash Bar” and a silent auction. This should be a great evening of fun for everyone and a wonderful change of pace from the after show local restaurant or motor home scene.

  • We are still in need of volunteers for the show. Especially in the Obedience area, with four obedience rings (including rally) our need for stewards is significantly higher than in the past. Both the TVKC and the ORKC have arranged for table stewards through the stewards organization but we still need a few people to fill in the gaps. Phyllis Fortune is our obedience chair and I am sure she would welcome any and all help experienced or not. Please contact Phyllis to offer your help.

  • The cluster will also be having a drawing for a Television, a generator, as well as a blow dryer and possibly a few other items. Tickets will be sold Thursday thru Saturday with the drawing being held on Saturday before Best in Show.

  • Paula Smiddy has many vendors signed up for the show with many more being received daily. There will be plenty of vendors both inside and out for all of your needs.  Likewise Golf Carts are available for rental directly through Bob Ladd golf carts in Knoxville.

  • All of our rings will be completely under cover and we are planning large rings for those breeds that really need the extra room. There is plenty of grooming and electricity again all under cover. The cluster committee is doing everything possible to make this a super weekend I hope everyone plans to support the club and the show.
