GENERAL MEETING MINUTES
   
NOVEMBER 7, 2002

President Tom Schmidt called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM.

Visitors: Rob Story, Clint Epps, and Laurie Dennis.

The minutes from the previous meeting were accepted as published.

Corresp. Sec'y: The club received a thank-you note from Jack Moore.
Jim Noe's sister has passed away, so the club will send a letter of condolence.

Treasurer: Not present; however, a report was circulated.

AKC Delegate: Karen Clausing will attend the December meeting in Orlando.

Committee Reports:

Cluster: Nancye Davis thanked everyone who worked on a very successful cluster.
Tom Schmidt also thanked everyone who was involved in making the
cluster the successful event it was.

Judges Comm.: We will have to see what will happen next year as far as the judges/dates go.

Training: Debbie Casey reported that everything had been going well. She stated that she
would like to refund the money that remains (that had been prepaid) to the
owners of a dog which had bitten a judge at a match. Her concern is that our
club could be held liable if such a thing were to happen at a training class.
Catherine Bell moved and Steve Merritt seconded that the club do this.
Motion passed.

Education: Pat Hartman took care of the booth for 2 days while AKC did for 3 days during
the cluster. There are pamphlets left over.

New members: Joyce and Richard Armstrong were elected as members of TVKC.

First reading: Clint Epps and Bob Story, who own Dobermans and Greyhounds.

The Board recommended that we purchase a banner from AKC. Catherine Bell,
seconded by Phyllis Fortune, moved that the club purchase a 6' X 6' banner.
Motion passed.

New Business: Ruby Valentine, seconded by Phyllis Fortune, moved that we hold our next
club meeting in conjunction with our Christmas party on Saturday, December 14.
Motion passed.

The Board recommended that the club pay transportation, two-day lodging, and
food for Joy Smith and her husband should she be invited to sing the National
Anthem at the AKC Invitational. Motion passed. Should this not occur this year,
the club should check for next year. Motion passed.

At the end of the meeting, president Tom Schmidt lead the club on a brainstorming session as to
what could be improved as far as the Fall Shows were concerned, Cluster, etc.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:20pm.
