    The delegates meeting minutes are ready and are being sent via e-mail to members with internet addresses in my records. The PAWS legislation that AKC is supporting is a very important matter  and  I wish to discuss this legislation at the July meeting.

AWARDS & DINNER MEETING JUNE 2, 2005

Awards for titles were presented to the following members:  Carol Stone, Ace Russell, Pat Hartman, Sandy Jessop, Nan Anderson, Sally Gervin, Barbara Williams, Debbie Casey, and Jeanne Ringe.

Following the dinner and presentations, the general meeting was called to order at 7:45 by President Phyllis Fortune, in the Sequoyah room of the UT School of Veterinary Medicine.  Karen Clausing took minutes for Recording Secretary, Roberto Jimenez. Roll call and sign in sheet showed a quorum present.

Minutes of the May 5 General Meeting were read and corrected that Cathy Ryan had reported there was to be an Obedience rather than Agility Trial, and that the trial had been rescheduled to August 6th and 7th.  Tom Schmidt moved that the minutes be approved as corrected.  Pat Hartman made a later correction to the Board Minutes of April 7th that "Pat Hartman had requested, and that Garry Clausing had moved that an additional judge be hired for the November judging panel, and seconded by Karen Clausing."

President read the names of the Board Committee appointments.
Jeanne read correspondence in absence of Corresponding Secretary, which included note of thanks from Barbara Williams for flowers received at the death of her father and also a note from former member Twila Logan announcing the adoption of a child.  Info received on a tracking seminar to be held in Springfield MO.

Treasurer, Jean Dinkins, reported several people still owe dues. Jean reported receipts for May of $255.00 and disbursements of $419.38, (loss of $164.38) the ending checking account balance of $37,118.88 and Money Market of $35,187.07, for a total of $72,305.95. It was moved, seconded and passed that the report be filed.

AKC Delegate, Karen Clausing, reported that the next Delegate meeting would be held in Chicago June 12 and 13.  Topics which will be discussed will be AKC Strategic Planning, and legislation. It is possible that some discussion will be foth coming regarding the Canine Health lawsuit loss.

Committee Reports:
Show Chair: Connie Setzer has submitted information that the show has been approved.
Trophies Chair: Debbie Casey said phone calls would not be made to members soliciting trophies, and to contact her.  It  was requested that Debbie put the information about the trophies which are to be offered and the cost and how to  donate, in the very next newsletter.
Vendors Chair:  Jo Beth Kelly reported vendors on track.
Future Conformation Show dates are Nov 5th and 6th, 2005; Nov. 4th and 5th 2006; and Nov. 3rd and 4th 2007.
Agility: Ace reported the fall Agility Trials are on Track, Sept 9, 10, 11.
Obedience: Jeanne reported that the Obedience Trial will be July 2nd and 3rd at the Farragut Middle School.

The membership elected the remaining four members of the Judges Selection Committee, Betty Abbott, Sharon Reynolds, Debbie Casey, and Diane Steffy, to be added to the Board appointed three, Karen Clausing, Nan Anderson, and Jan Schmidt.  Karen Clausing is to be Chair of the committee and the first meeting is to be held before the next general meeting.

Election of New Members and Introductions:
Janet Wilshire, 2nd reading.  Garry moved club disperse with rule by secret ballot, seconded and passed.  Janet was elected to membership.
Guests introduced, William Stone, Eddie Dulaney, and applications received.  Visitors, Lois Stone and Dennis Sean.

New Business:
Ace reported fly ball this weekend Sat, and Sun June 4 & 5 at his kennel.  There was discussion of the benefits of holding Rally Obedience in conjunction with our shows and Obedience Trials.
Announcement of Sunday T.V. show on ABC 20/20 about animal welfare agencies claiming people are cruel to animals, then taking and selling the animals.

Tom Schmidt moved for adjournment, seconded and passed.

Meeting adjourned 8:50 p.m.
