Training Classes

Training your dog is an absolute necessity.
Dogs come into the world filled with love and curiosity,
but not manners. They need to be taught how to get along
in the family and with each other.
There are also a wide variety of canine activities and sports
that can challenge and entertain you and your dog.

The Tennessee Valley Kennel Club
can provide assistance in training your dog.

We are now offering:
Beginning Obedience

TVKC AGILITY, OBEDIENCE, & RALLY CLASSES

Beginning Obedience Class
Explore the wonders of communicating with your dog while learning basic obedience skills (Sit, Down, Stay, Heel, Leave It and Come). Positive motivational approach with emphasis on language of leadership.

Pre-requisites: Current vaccinations and pre-registration. (See How to Register below.)

Wednesdays 6:15-7:15 pm - Five Classes
Winter Class: Starts Jan 18, 2012

Cost: Members $30, Non-members $60

Beginning Agility Class - TO BE SCHEDULED IN SPRING 2012
Introduction to skills required for dog agility. Learn how to teach your dog to be successful at all types of obstacles (jumps, tunnels, A-frame, weave poles). Safe, sturdy, competition-approved equipment. Non-stressful approach to running agility with your dog.

Pre-requisites: Beginning obedience class highly recommended, Current vaccinations and pre-registration. (See how to register above.)

Wednesdays 7:30 - 8:30 pm - Five Classes

Volunteering at an Agility Trial: Agility students and those dog owners interested in learning about agility should consider attending and volunteering at an agility trial. For more information --> Click Here

Introduction to Rally Obedience Class - TO BE SCHEDULED LATER
This is a mini-class with 3 sessions and a field trip. More info on rally -->>> Click here

Pre-requisites: Beginning obedience class highly recommended, Current vaccinations and pre-registration - Please check OBEDIENCE on the registration form and add RALLY on the same field as your name. If you already have a registration form on file for your dog, just email tvkc00@gmail.com with your name, your dog's name, class you want to register for, any change in contact info.

Cost: $48 for non-club members; $24 for club members

TVKC CONFORMATION CLASS - Starting January 23

Instructors: Paula Smiddy

This class is designed to prepare you and your dog for the conformation ring. It is an informal class that meets every Monday. Participation will be on a week-to-week / drop-in basis. The class can be divided into beginner and advanced levels if needed.

Prerequisites: Current vaccinations, Leash broken. Please bring a Completed Registration Form with you to your first class. >> click here to download.

Payment is expected each week. Bring your own bait/treats. Absolutely no aggressive dogs will be permitted.

Cost: $5.00 for each session for TVKC members and $10.00 for Non-members.

Save the downloaded file first, enter your info, and then save it again. Attach the completed form to an email and send to tvkc00@gmail.com. Please let us know if you need help! Contact us by email or phone: 865-323-8866.

If you already have a registration form on file for your dog, just email tvkc00@gmail.com with your name, your dog's name, class you want to register for, and any change in contact info.

Prepayment of class fees is now required at time of registration for obedience and agility classes.

All dogs, purebred or mixed breed, are welcome to our agility & obedience classes.
Our conformation classes are restricted to purebreds. * Please bring your dog on a good, strong leash and secure collar.

* Wolf hybrids, aggressive dogs, and females in season are not eligible. We reserve the right to limit enrollment in classes and to deny services to participants that exhibit unruly behavior.
