How long have you been a member of the TKVC? 2 months

How did you become interested in our sport? When i was a toddler my mother took me to a dog show and I gravitated towards 5 breeds of dogs while at the show. My mother did her research and ended up choosing Samoyeds as our first family dog. Mom began competing in obedience and eventually in tracking and conformation. Before I was old enough to compete in Juniors I was showing in the breed ring from there is was hooked and just kept finding more things to do with my dogs.
Tell us about your most memorable moment in our sport? Competing in teams with my Mother at Barn Hunt Nationals. My mother was handling my bitch Jewels (who was in standing heat and had never competed with anyone other than me at the time). I was handling my stud dog Jack (who was very new to the sport). Both dogs worked together to clear the course and completed their required elements and qualified. Jewels handled having a new handler like a pro, taking her cues and listening to her handler. Jack was a good boy and kept his mind on the task at hand and not the girl in the ring with him. We got so much positive feedback from fellow competitors and the judges regarding the fact that a dog and bitch in heat actually worked and did their job in the ring like it was nothing out of the ordinary. It was nice to get such positive feed back, especially when you got so much negitive comments from other exhibitors who were not happy to have a bitch is season at the national, and other dog sport competitors thinking I was insane to even try it in the first place.
What is it that attracted you to the TVKC? I wanted to be a member of a club that supported and promoted a majority of dog sports.
What do you like most about being a member of TVKC? The camaraderie of fellow members and exhibitors. Everybody that I have meet in this club so far has been kind and supportive.
Do you think TVKC meets your needs as a member? If not what areas would you like to see improvements in? Yes.
How do your dogs impact your life? I can not imagine a life with out dogs in They offer love and kindness regardless of who you are. You never have to worry that they will share your secrets. The joy they display at the simplest pleasures in life just make you smile.
